Hi Josh

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks for this. None of the other spam blockers work either because they are for comments or against spambots, but we had started getting several registrations per minute from a few IP addresses. Having blocked these it’s gone blissfully quiet!

Of course we’ll need to keep on top of the address list but it’s saved a lot of time. I also like the password bypass option, which as you point out above, is clearly in the notes section along with all the other instructions necessary.

On a personal note I think it’s sad that some people feel the need to have a crack at free software and I applaud you for responding. Obviously some people don’t ‘get’ free software. I’ll see what I can do to get you that elusive donation !!

Alex: That’s very strange, I have it running on several other sites running 2.9.2… Try replacing the hypens with slashes and see what happens:

[agecalc birthdate="1978/01/30"]

I’m curious to see what happens. I’ve added it to this post as a test too…

I must say I already made a test without aditional parameters and without asterisks:

Mi name is Alex and I am [agecalc birthdate="1978-01-30"] years old.

but this didn´t work either. In both cases, I don´t get any error messages, but just no output.

Hi! I think your plugin is a great idea, but although simple as it seems to use, I can´t get a result in my page. I´m using WP 2.9.2. There is an incompatibility issue with that version? I made a single page in WP with this text: Mi name is Alex and I am [agecalc *birthdate="1978-01-30"* year="" years="" multipliery="" month="" months="" multiplierm=""] years old. I´d really appreciate if you or anyone can give me a hint, thanks in advance!

Hello Josh,

It seems this plugin behaves slightly different than intended on (at least) WP 2.9.1 and 2.9.2; the box / widget / window (I’m unsure about the vocabulary here) with links is shown to both admins and subscribers. A quick
“if ( !current_user_can ( ‘level_10′ ) ) { return; }” at the beginning of jc_dbl_f_DashboardDisplay() will at least empty the box, but it would of course be nicer to have it completely hidden.
Do you intend to ever upgrade / fix this? I’ve never done any WP plugin coding, so I’m unsure if I could get it fixed myself.

Josh: The IP adresses are beeing blocked. My problem is that “password bypass box” is not beeing displayed.

As I wrote before I use this line:
Net=131.165.63.132|Password=kmd2013|Message=You’ve been blocked!
